Ashridge Estate, Herts & Bucks

Making the most of our glorious weather, our 2nd port of call today. Ashridge estate in Herts and Bucks, a 5000 acre estate, just visited a very small part of it today.

1 : The Bridgewater Monument

2 & 3 : View from top of the monument - Ashridge House

4 : A view over to Aldbury

The Monument stands at 33metres tall, and only 172 steps to reach the top, 160 too many, lol. Lovely views from up the top of the Monument, shame it was very hazy today Hopefully these images do some justice in showing how beautiful this part of the world is

Re: Ashridge Estate, Herts & Bucks

Thanks Ken.

Landscapes are not really my thing, but only because they never look right once i see the image on a bigger screen, even when i play around with processing the image, i still fail to create that stunning image.
We only spent around 45 minutes here, you could quite easily spend the day on a nice day, if you like walking/cycling etc. The Circular walk around the estate is 16 miles long, never seems a lot of wildlife there, lots of squirrels and a few small groups of Fallow deer can be seen if your lucky, we come across a group of around 7 deer yesterday but they are so nervous, blink and you miss them

Yes it can be hard to sometimes to put into digital image what you see and experience while your there. It can be so frustrating also that not all of the dynamics are captured.
