Those were some tough lighting conditions you had there. Sometimes we can't choose them but just make the best of what we get.

Re: Old Buckboard

Does look like the light was hard work! Great shot though - would be even better without the deck in the background, but it's not like you could move it!

Well observed!

Re: Old Buckboard

Yes, this was taken in the harsh light of an early afternoon in Goldfields, Arizona.
90+ degrees and rising. I thought the old deck railings added to the western feel, but as you say, i didn't really have much choice.
thanks for you comments.

Re: Old Buckboard

Is this a situation where you can return for an early morning reshoot? The subject is interesting. I know how you must feel as my "Bucket List" vacation to 5 national parks last year was not scheduled with photographers in mind. It's tough salvaging a once in a lifetime visit due to contrasty light.

Re: Old Buckboard

hehe, guess someone had a bad trip to town. why don't they put ghost towns and national parks closer to civilization. every one of my vacations ends up being the same thing - harsh noon light.

Re: Old Buckboard

Reminds me of a song.
