I done the unthinkable
After always using PC’s ever since the DOS days, I’ve finally done the unthinkable. I’ve treated myself to an early Christmas present, I’ve got myself a new 27” iMac as a replacement for my aging Pentium 4 PC.
I have a 27” Dell ultra sharp monitor on my old system that I thought was good, until I saw the two screens side by side. The iMac’s 27” screen runs a higher res and is LED back lit and my photos look much better.
All I have to do now is get used to the Mac way of doing things

So if any Mac users out there have any good tips or links for a Mac beginner, please feel free to post them.

Ohhh nice one Ken! I love my Mac - couldn't go back to windows now.
I have that Dell too (tho it's not being used at present - it's a back up in case my 30" dies on me!)
My biggest tip is make sure you use spaces, and expose all with hot corners - these are absolutely awesome Mac features. System prefs > expose
Mine are set up as follows:
top left - all windows
top right - desktop
btm left - dashboard
btm right - spaces (which I have 4 - and I increase if I need more)
Don't forget to configure your right click on the mouse too - not sure if it's not by default now.
Have fun - you won't regret it!

I'm loving it so far, It doesn't seem to be busy all the time doing things in the background like my old Windoze machine was.
Thanks for the tips, I've just copied your hot corners, all except the spaces one as I've not turned on spaces yet. I want to get used to a few things at a time
.Now where can I download a good free solitaire game for when I'm not busy in LightRoom.

The other tip is to get an extra drive and turn on time-machine.. it will back up your data automatically in the background and you can even get files you deleted two weeks ago
