Is it just me, or are the shadows in this photo REALLY unflattering?

Agree - makes her look a bit like she has a batman thingy on her face 
The look in the whole set seems to be 'harsh' to give it a 'tough/businessy' look by the look of it :/

The shadows are terrible, I guess they were going for the tough, stark lighting, that flatters none of them. This is really bad though, they've made her into batgirl

This was a very bad attempt at posterization. The high contrast look creates sharp differences in tonal values that are very unflattering to the human face.
