Loch of the Lowes Osprey 'dying in her nest'

So sad to see this on the news today as I've had many enjoyable days watching this bird at Loch of the Lowes over the years.

What a worry, you can't interfere but the temptation must be great, how near are the chicks to fledging?

Re: Loch of the Lowes Osprey 'dying in her nest'

Thank you Phil, mid July seems so far away, would the male be able to care for the chicks or do they need a constant presence at the nest, sorry asking you questions that you probably don't know the answers to, lets just wait and hope.

Re: Loch of the Lowes Osprey 'dying in her nest'

I think they're hoping the male might manage.

Swiped....

A bird this size could last 4 days without water. This gives her till tomorrow evening. It is heart breaking to watch but we do have an up side and that is our male continues to feed the young. They do have a good chance of surviving.
