Monitor - Something along these lines wanted

I'm looking for a new monitor and thought I'd pick your brains. I did read over another thread about S-PVA and S-IPS but suspect my budget is lower.

Anyway - price wise something similar to this, size wise something similar as it will be used to watch DVDs too probably.

Obviously the better for pics the better.......

Re: Monitor - Something along these lines wanted

I have just purchased a 22" Samsung SyncMaster which is a TV+ computer monitor.

Ok its not what you want Phil but just posting to say with a wide screen monitor the pictures do get stretched and its not easy to correct pictures without reducing screen size. So I have reduced my viewing area to 18"x18" for my pictures but retain the full width for the TV settings.

Wide screens are all that seem to be out there but for our purposes regarding editing I think the size I mentioned is sufficient.

If your current monitor is not dead yet I would wait a few months until you can get an s-ips Phil - we're normally stuck with our monitors for about 5 years, and it really will make a tonne of difference.

If you really don't want to then they're all much the same, samsung and hp and dell are usually pretty good.
