Build your own free web site.

How many of you have endured the hassle of building your own web site then found that the free site provider just didn't cut the mustard. Getting it all up and running can be a minefield for the uninitiated. I've often thought that it would be nice if I had a web presence where I could easily display my images, where friends and family could laud my masterpieces or more likely tell me what a nerd I am. Well, I found Yuku, it's a social networking collection of forums, the name comes from an Australian aboriginal word which means tree. You don't need to be a computer whizz to build your own site. I've just adapted it to show my images in galleries. If I can do it, anyone can. I've made it Private so I don't get a rush of toggers wanting to sign up. The layout BTW is quite similar to Yop. For anyone interested, here's mine.

TIPS: Best view viewed full screen Press <F11> Press again to return

At the bottom of each album page this works as a link which will return you to the Home/Index page.

Re: Build your own free web site.

You have some great pics on there Niko, when I look at a website I want to see pictures straight away and sort of flow through them.

Going to each individual set kind of slows it down for me.

Re: Build your own free web site.

After 60 views there is an almost complete absence of members wanting to
discuss the pros and cons of building your own web site. Maybe you didn't like my effort, you can say so and I won't be offended. Perhaps I can tempt you into words with this one then. Another freebie and so simple to use.

Re: Build your own free web site.

thanks for them Nikosnap ,I do like the looks of the second one which also seems to work better and straight into your pictures
the first one as Jols says is a lot of clicking to get to a picture and then to get back to the main menu but as you say they are free
were they easy to upload to ?

Re: Build your own free web site.

Hi Cakey, Weebly is a no brainer you can upload images to your layout singly or in batch mode and publish your creation by simply pressing a button labelled "Publish" after which Weebley does it all for you.

Re: Build your own free web site.

Looks good cakes.

I stay with weebly mainly because I can do it with my eyes shut.

Been using it a while and I like the ease of it, it is so easy my son has his own site which he sees to himself.
