A200 help please with flash

Hi again guysI knew it wouldn't be long before I needed your help.

For some strange reason I keep getting the flash coming up on my A200, and I've checked in the menu, I haven't changed any settings, but rather than get the book out yet again, I'm just wondering if any of you's could tell me what I might have inadvertently touched! It's very annoying coz I'm out in the daylight, sometimes brilliant sunshine, and that blooming flash pops up every time! I'm sure it's something quite simple that I need to do to stop this though? Cockpit error somewhere along the line, I've touched something I shouldn't have I know it!Thanks in advance, I hope it's a simple matter of pressing a button!

Okies....
Either switch your mode wheel to M for manual, this overrides the auto flash and will only be active if you press the little flash button next to it, OR if you are using the AUTO setting on the dial, you will need to press the Fn button on the righ of the camera (next to the directional button) and enter FLASH MODE. the cancel flash setting is the one at the top of the list.

(had to grab mine to make sure!!!)

Hope this helps x

Re: A200 help please with flash

Is there a 'P' mode - that might be easier to use than the M mode.

The flash comes up because when you shoot in automatic the camera does what it thinks is best for that shot

Re: A200 help please with flash

Thanks Kirksson, nice easy to understand instructions there, that's just how I like them! Job done, many thanks!

Hi Azz, yes, there is a P mode, but don't ask me what that one does, I just use the Auto mode, I think it's safer until I get to know a bit more about this piece of kit! Thanks
