Adobe CS4

I had an email from Adobe about the launch of CS4, i am currently using CS2 for any edit work i do but i just want to upgrade to CS4 as i missed CS3 because there were a lot of features that were just the same but just repackaged.

What i want to know is do i have to buy the full package, or can i do an upgrade from CS2??

I don't want to pre-order it for it not to work as i don't have CS3.

Cheers

Sammy

Re: Adobe CS4

LOL I got that email too I have CS2 aswell, so without appearing totally dumb so you don't need to buy the new one , just upgrade it

Are there many new features on CS4? as I am really still learning photoshop stuff, but have found it addictive

Re: Adobe CS4

I am still looking into it...

Here is the relevent page you need to look at. After talking to my fella though he said it is more aimed at Windows users than Mac so i may not need the upgrade. I will wait a week or so for the reviews to come out before parting with £160!! But i still think its pretty good money though considering how expensive the whole package is, but i don't want to leave it too long before upgrading as the more versions you skip the more expensive it will get.

Re: Adobe CS4

Thanks Sammy, there is also a special deal if you upgrade Lightroom at the same time. Mmm, as you say if you leave it too long it gets more expensive to upgrade, going to have a think about it, can see me dipping into my 50mm lens fund

I am using CS2 more than Elements these days, and love learning new stuff on there,so I am seriously thinking of upgrading. The 50mm may have to wait, again

Re: Adobe CS4

I have made an executive decision, I will wait,as I really want a 50mm, then this will go near the top of the list, not sure I would make full use of it yet anyway, so a 50mm is the more sensible choice. I think

I had no idea, photography would be so expensive

Re: Adobe CS4

Personally I would wait and see how it turns out. I would be more than happy with CS2 tbh

Ahhh... but Azz you know me... it's shiny and new!! LOL LOL!!! Read a few reviews and they are saying that if you are still on CS2, now is the time to upgrade. Its apparently got a cool feature for using graphics tabs that you can rotate the image to 45 degrees (non destructively) i like writing at an angle so it imitates writing and drawing at an angle. Also has a few cool features and processes things in a better and different way to CS2.

Re: Adobe CS4

use CS3 quite happily. There are millions of features that I'm not skilled in even after doing PS courses and having worked with the software pretty much from inception through to now in all of it's forms & versions.

I personally get on my high horse when software houses churn out version after version (at huge expense) one after another with little really advancement or use to the non-professional user. I'd love to see a software house develop a core program and then every individual element of an upgrade can be downloaded by choice and requirement rather than an additional 300 mb of guff to swell the HDD and slow down processing.

Rant over.....LOL (I think I'll hang on until CS10 is released in 2012)
