Nikon sb600 speedlight help - give me some tips!

Hi guys recently got the nikon sb600 speedlight.

Anyone out there that can give me a 10 point help guide.

or give me a link to how to get the best results.

Hi
its really a question of reading thru the manual. The setting I use mainly is the TTL af-fill zoom which automatically adjusts for lens mm range.
As shown on page 40 ( power zoom activated). That covers most things.

Don't forget the mm reading in the flashgun will only go down to the minumum lens range ie 70-300mm lens the gun will only go down to 70mm on the above. At 300mm lens range the max the flash goes to is 85mm.

In other words beyond 85mm the gun becomes less affective, so on that basis its best to use lenses from say 10mm to 85mm as a rough guide. it will work further away but not so bright.

If you want to take a picture from further away then you need a camera which will trigger a flashgun remotely.

here the gun was on the left (out of shot) fired remotely together with the built in camera flash to achieve this picture. i have not levelled up the picture as this was not what the picture was about.
