Robin, Fieldfare & Snow Bunting

Just a few from today. Apologies though Guys and Gals, more bird images.

(1) Robin - This was one Robin that definitely was not shy, got very close up to him, i`d say within 5 feet.

(2) Fieldfare - Please correct me if i have misnamed this bird, this is the 1st time i have seen any of these. Not the easiest birds to image, everytime i got close they were gone. I had to make do with images taken at a distance.

(3) Snow Bunting - Well he is still hanging around one of the local reservoirs, but i do not think it will be long before he has gone for good, apparently he keeps disappearing for days at a time, there will be a day where he will not be back. Image washed out a little, so bright today considering forecast was for fog.

Re: Robin, Fieldfare & Snow Bunting

Lovely Robin and nice crisp detail and colours in the Fieldfare shot,

The Snowbunting is nice but gets a bit lost against that background, which is hardly your fault.

Cool shots Mark.

Re: Robin, Fieldfare & Snow Bunting

Thank you Ken Well you are only a county over, i was expecting to wake up to fog this morning though as it was forecast, surprised to see it so bright, although it was very cold with it.
Thanks Vikki. The bunting well blends into his background, on top of the bright sunshine i was forever losing him....I spent 20 minutes photographing what i thought was him only for it to turn out to be a pebble He does look like the pebbles on the beach when he does stand still though
I was pleased as punch with the Robin and happy with the Fieldfare also, although shame i could not get a little closer

Re: Robin, Fieldfare & Snow Bunting

A nice mix Mark - and where's all this sunshine coming from ????

Fieldfares can be quite nervy although they do stick around if you've got fallen apples on the ground.

Re: Robin, Fieldfare & Snow Bunting

Thanks Phil. Great to see a bit of winter sun, when it does happen we should make the most of it, all too often its grey and miserable.

This was one of 3 fieldfares having a play in the trees, mostly on the wrong side of the branches making imaging them so much harder. But at least now its another bird i can cross of my list

Re: Robin, Fieldfare & Snow Bunting

Thanks Brian. Once i got within about 20 feet of the 3 Fieldfare that were playing around they flew off to other branches where i could not get them in focus, at least i managed one good shot
