Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 11 EX DG MACRO - just ordered
Just ordered a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 11 EX DG MACRO Lens(Nikon fit). Think I got a good deal, rrp £800 bought for £465 new.
Anyone got this lens for any make of camera? if so any information much appreciated.

It got the silver award in the practical photography magazine a few months ago and just lost out to the Nikon one due to lack of VR, but it beat all other makes.

I only ordered it today so will be a couple of days wait I think. Reason for getting it is i need a "fast" lens for photographing animals on the move ie afghan racing birds in flight etc. My existing lenses for that kind of range just arn't quick enough to freeze the shot.
Notice the blur on the dog? this is what I hope the new lens will prevent even though it was a "panning shot". I would like to take similar but way sharper.
Further away the subject is not really a huge problem can be mainly dealt with in pp. Oh and Azz only posted these photos here to show the problem with a slower lens not so much the dogs

Just got the new lens and what a difference as you can see. definately worth the money,just forgot to take off the vivid setting. Oh well live and learn
