I'm at the flowers again!

I have clicked 'showcase' as I am not sure what these categories mean, guess if I go and look it will tell me but excuse me if the one I have chosen is unsuitable.

Re: Greet the Summer Solstice

As I always say, I don't know much about flowers and nature phoptography (some would be happy to say I don't know much about photography) but I always think you do some great shots that look excellent to me.

Incidentally shame you didn't pick up a bargain k7 a couple of weeks ago. Dixons were mistakenly selling them at about £250!

Re: Greet the Summer Solstice

They were gone in minutes, Nikon D3's at £1140, a D90 at £194! I saw 'em but didn't buy (stupidly). They honoured the mistakes and supplied the goods...oh, and for the benefit of any Canon users they were selling IS lenses at a fraction of new price! I could have had a D3, pig sick but it just didn't seem they would be supplied. He who hesitates...

Re: Greet the Summer Solstice

OMG I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A D3 or 2!!!!!!!!!!

They generally have clauses now, that basically give them up to dispatch to wrangle out of it.

Re: Greet the Summer Solstice

To be honest i thought it was very good of Dixons to supply the goods as it was a mistake. They sold a huge range of stuff at a fraction of intended price. This was only 2-3 weeks ago.

Anyway, sorry Snaps to converse in your thread...i did say you had a lovely flower shot!

Re: Greet the Summer Solstice

My problem is I fall in love with my bodies and I now have 3, two yes, most people could use 2 but three is too many and 4 would have broken the back. Also have too many lens as well bought them before the price went up but it does not stop me browsing the net looking at what is new on the market.

Thank you for the kind comments on my flowers, being semi house bound I see a lot of them and do believe that to concentrate on the one subject does help you improve, it really is time I moved on.

Re: Greet the Summer Solstice

Snaps you have to do what you can and make the best of the situation. My friend is a photographer in a wheelchair, doesn't stop him going to many places and many events. At the expense of sounding patronising I admire his courage and ability to be fearless and get around and literally his viewpoint is always different to mine.

I would like a full frame and an APS-C camera. Two bodies would be enough. When I had film I occasionally had 3, b&W, slide and negative and still i would have the wrong film in one, fast and not slow! I also had a 6x6! Thought it was great to show off like a pro. but it was just stupid.

You are an expert on your garden and photographing the flowers, they look great. Me, I haven't a clue about flowers and setting up the shot but if I see your end results your pics are typically stunning in colour, vibrancy, detail. If I remember rightly Pentax said so too!

To true, my situation differs and there are times I do get out and about, I have most chance to take images at dog shows but have to admit that is the last thing I want to do, like the candid shots of dogs but not the formal ones.

My ambition is to become skilled at landscape, not the best of choices but that is what I want. Oh! and I want to buy a fisheye, hey ho, have to sell one of by babies first.
