Gator Possum

I know people won't so much think that these are good photography, so no critique needed in that sense, they are meant to be record shots of my boy, for going on the website (if I ever get around to photoing all the others and actually updating the site! ). I know they're a bit 'boring' in that sense, but I was happy with them after a bit of tweaking, especially the first macro shot and thought I'd share!

Please give a big warm YOP! 'Hello!' to Gator Possum... the love of my life! <3

He was from our last litter, and is hopefully going to be a dad himself soon, please God let Ice be pregnant!!! *panic*.

Anyway - here he is, I was playing around with DoF earlier and got some lovely up to date snaps of the monster! Also, you can really see the difference in lens quality between the macro and the 18-135!

Bongo Fury Fast and Bulbous - Gator Possum - Russian Blue Agouti.

Hope you likeeee!

Re: Gator Possum

I think the first one is great.

It's got a really strange depth of focus.

The hair between the eyes and the eyes themselves are sharp - the nose isn't - but the whiskers are.

It's like you've got two different areas in focus.

Pics aside - I've never made my mind up about rats. My pal Ann who died a couple of yeras ago kept rats and they were pretty cool. Hannah (my eldest daughter) would love one but she's careless and I know what my cats are like.

Re: Gator Possum

I would love to see them Azz!

I know what you mean about the strange focus Phil! I can't work out why the whiskers are in focus either! I almost always focus on the eyes, or occasionally on the nose if I want to get a different view - so it's odd to see the whiskers and the eyes in focus!

Re: Gator Possum

I do love the first two as portraits, but the others are really good as pet/record shots

Love the last one, he is showing off his Sexy swishy tail!

Like Phil, my kids would love one, and I would worry about the cat or the dogs hurting it, though the hamster survived but that had a close shave , when Luke didn't close the cage properly

Re: Gator Possum

I suppose as always, it's horses for courses, I adore shallow DoF - and always think ratties look great with a very shallow DoF! it's really just a matter of personal preference I think. He is a gorgeous rat though - I'm still gutted he was too young for Cardiff etc. - he's fantastic!

Re: Gator Possum

Love the first 2 Laura!

Hope he proves to be a good stud buck, he looks a great lad!

Looking at him through the eye's of a rat judge and a breeder that also breeds RB Ags, he is very Agouti.
