I was about to post and say surely the company had insurance to cover the client’s property.

i have thought about the insurance route, but there is no one left to claim against... will speak to them and see what they advise which will be a call first thing monday.

OK... I finally have a proper update for you all....

I sent an email to the company dealing with the administration asking to be updated today about my camera. I got a call from someone saying they are trying to match up paperwork to my camera and they will be in touch... funny thats what they said when i spoke to them 2 weeks ago!....

anyway, an hour later i get another call saying that my camera is at a repair shop in Glasgow... right ok! I said has it been repaired and it hasn't!! so 3 months on and its still sitting on a shelf! Anyways i get the contact information and give them a call.

It turns out that they have had the camera since April, and have not been given the go ahead to fix it so have just left it in the store room. I gave the goahead the same day they told me how much it would be to fix it! but they didn't tell the repair guys!

So anyway... after speaking to this very nice man he tells me that it will be £135 to repair including the delivery back to me. I was in shock... PO told me it would be £290!! so not only am i getting a direct response and also getting my camera back, i am also getting it cheaper, it will be thoroughly cleaned too. I also said i need it back by 2nd August, and he has put it to the top of the list!

At long last a result. If I were you I would get it insured as soon as you get it back. I am insured with Photoguard, not cheap unless something happens then it is .

I am insured now for all my kit, but damaged this before i took out insurance so all the dates would be wrong if i made a claim. Oh well, a lesson learned and all that!
