Langton Field

Trudging across many fields, on my Saturday walk, spotted this not long after half ripping my finger to bits on a wire fence...

Like it

Darken the lighter areas in the left hand side just to balance it out a bit perhaps? Or maybe it just needs a frame as it's on grey.

totally agree. It's an interesting composition and leads my eye along the tree-line.

Framed, with a little contrast and selective burning would make this look great.

Did you also consider the use of grad ND filters? I've had a play and like the results using a Blue grad and yellow grad.

Re: Langton Field

Blimey, like that. It's bloomin' frustrating when your PP skills are not up to doing so much...I'm trying!

Ha ha ...you have upset the 'other half...quote 'it's your s*dding picture, what are they doing messing around with it...I liked it in black and white'.

Don't worry JR she will calm down! You may be a toughy marine but you don't want her with a rolling pin in hand after you!

Seriously, thanks...I like that coloured version. I had a good day out with the camera yesterday, did about 8-9 miles over the fields plus all the messing around and came away with around 5 or 6 images I was happy with. The light was changing but I seemed to vbe lucky with the winter sunlight here and there. I still need to get to grips with the post processing to get the best from them.

Re: Langton Field

BC - please pass on my compliments to your good Amazonian lady wife and do offer her a bunch of virtual flowers!

Others: I'm not offering my edit as an improvement to BC's image - it is simply to illustrate something that else that can be done through PP.

Claire - it was a 2 minute job using gradient levels to simulate Grad filters.
