Re: Mrs Blackbird

Think your story is more interesting than the truth, she pulled a long (well it was as she pulled) worm out the moment I took that shot but the shutter was not fast enough to capture the movement, either that or I had a touch of the shakes.

Getting fed up with taking these birds through the muddy double glazing and have been looking for a RSPB site that I may be able to manage then I will be able to take a bird with no visual interruption. Since Alan put up a seed feeder with Niger seed in it we have loads of finch types around and although I have never been that interested before I am getting hooked on birds of late.

Re: Mrs Blackbird

it's really rewarding isn't it? and relaxing! My feeder is a makeshift sort of effort - a plank on a pole with some bits of kindling nailed on as perches - but it does the job. It's on the grass near my house, but we have a bit of a patio area before it... I put food out and get as close as I can with tripod/mono and set everything up - then stand quietly and wait for ages and ages - eventually they start coming back - they know you're know threat - and they'll pose for ages for you! It does get mighty nippy out in the cold though - but worth it!
