First shots with backdrop and stand.

Gear finally arrived. This is the first attempt. Slight movement in the stool placing, but nothing else.









Canon 40d
ISO 640
Metz 48-1 AF Flashgun bounced off the ceiling.
EXIF intact.
Kit 1
Canon EOS 7D
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon 100-400mm L IS USM.
Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 macro
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX DG MACRO HSM II.
Giottos Pro Monopod. MML 3270B.
Canon BG-E7 grip.

I would have gone for a different colour backdrop if it were me, too much of the same overall colour.

Nice work Dawn!

I think you don't need the leaves as they're a little distracting - and the ones that work best are the ones with more breathing space at the top.

I dont want a too contrasty background, thats why I ordered that colour!

I just stuffed them on there, a little colour, and were too hand. Im surprised the dogs and cat stayed on the stool to be honest!!

Nice work Dawn. I bet you are giong to have fun exploring yuor new set up.
I have to agree with Azz's comments. Also it might be worth placing something flat underneath the floor bit so that you don't have the stool sinking in. Is it carpet underneath at the moment?

Yes I just set it up in the lounge. I think Im going to have to cut the muslin though, its HUGE!!! I know why I ordered the smaller piece now, its tripled on the floor there, that wouldnt help keeping it flat either.

Im pleased with the light really, a new flash gun, a new set up, Ill have fun with this stuff Im sure.

I think the colour is OK - I prefer 'natural' colours with animals.
