I know I've mentioned it before - but do you ever approach these guys and ask them if they wanna buy prints? I dunno about them but if I was doing some kind of sport I would love a photo :-/

I never have, think it's lack of confidence in my own ability. Seems arrogant to me to assume that i would take a pic worthy of someone paying for.

Why not let them judge that? 
Seriously, you should set-up a website, and then get a poster or something with it's address on that says 'photos from this session can be seen at: site.com/area'. Or just approach them and give them a card with the same as above on but the area bit written in each time you do a different place. Then make sure there's a way for them to order prints
