Balvaird Castle

After visiting the round tower ( a rare tower built around the 1100's) in Abernethy we headed to Elcho Castle and then Balvaird.

Balvaird Castle near Newton of Balcanquhal, Perthshire was built in the late 1400s, it was built for Sir Andrew Murray, a younger son of the family of Murray of Tullibardine.

Very windy day but got some nice shots and even sneaked a 15 second exposure in

1) 15 sec, ISO 50, F16 Polarisor, GND and a 6 stop filter used

Re: Balvaird Castle

Lovely old building beautifully captured, my fave is the second, like the way the trees pull you in and up towards the castle, all have great compositions , that one appeals to me the most.

Re: Balvaird Castle

These are up to your usual high standard Grant. I like them all and it very hard to pick one out, so instead I pick one I like the least which is Hermitage Castle shot, in fact it almost looks as though it's pasted into the picture. Perhaps something to do with the PP.
