Re: Bullfinch, Siskin, Redpoll, Gsw, Robin, Goldfinch, Great tit

Thanks DJ, some interesting tips indeed - I'm really not very fast in my reactions so I know I'd struggle, but it's worth having a go, and practice makes perfect! I struggle even with larger slower birds

I often find I can't get the light I need to get the higher shutter speeds, the Bigma is widest at 6.3 - and frequently the shutter speed is then too slow. We do at times get good light, but it seems that no matter how high I can get the shutter speed, the image is still blurred :/ Often, it comes out too dark too - I have no doubt it's my technique! and I think my slow reactions have a lot to do with it too. My lens generally isn't brilliant though, it can be quite soft, and has a bit of a haze going on in certain lights. I also find the focusing can be very slow... by the time I've focused on a stationary bird half the time they've gone, the continous autofocus can be slow with that lens, and it's very hard to get even slower birds in flight :/ As I say, I daresay I am the largest part of the problem!
