No kidding Mossy. I have yet to see it. I'm glad that it was shared without a doubt. The starling doesn't look skinny by any means. It's nice that they learn to adapt.

.Beak defects are common, although this is the 1st garden bird with a defect i have come across.
Brian, having looked through other images yesterday, the starling from yesterday is quite lucky, if you could call him that, his beak looked like it at least closed properly, other birds in other images, they were not so lucky, with their beaks overlapping and all out of shape, would make it very hard for them to feed.......

We don't do the BGBW, not sure we can as we're in Ireland anyway... however we do the Irish Garden Bird Survey every year - which is a much more in depth thing and goes on for longer. We're still doing it, think it started either December or beginning of January... trying to remember! Erm... we also do IWeBS counts - which is Irish Wetland Bird Survey. We were doing Bird Atlas too when it was going - that was great fun!
