M90 Friarton

Not the best spot for those who don't like heights but it does give a good view looking down onto the motorway. Best to keep the dogs on leads here

Re: M90 Friarton

I like them, the mono is my fave, reminds me of Helsby Hill in Cheshire, the way it just drops down, and the far reaching views.

It's quite similar to Helsby hill although it doesn't have a face.

Re: M90 Friarton

Nice shots Phil.

I drive past there quite a lot, and I've always wondered what the view was like from up there.

Thanks for sharing

It's a nice walk Ian.

I used to live in Perth itself 10 years ago or so and used to go up there a lot. Today was the first time I've been up there in ages. As seems to be the case everywhere it's become a lot 'better' in terms of signs and paths. It used to be a right old muddy trudge but now it's great if you like things a bit more neat and tidy.

Although its a long way above the motorway it's only a gentle 15 walk from the car park. Turn off at the new junction after crossing the bridge (heading towards Dundee) and follow signs for Kinnoull woodland car park.

Today wasn't the best but if your ever passing at the right time it's great for sunsets if you've 1/2 an hour to kill.

Re: M90 Friarton

Does the Sun not set behind you if you're up there Phil?
Although I suppose at this time of year it wouldn't go all the way around would it?

Thanks for the directions. I just might give that one a wee try the next time I'm out that way.
