shutter clicks (actuations) finding of

http://drchung.new21.net/previewextractor/

download preview extractor V1.6 which can be found half way down the page.

At the top of that download you will find a tab called shutter count. the rest is self explainatory

Get up the last photo taken for the shutter count. Check file type box ie Jpeg etc

note Download Preview Extractor V1.6
Important notice for users not using Windows XP: If Preview Extractor says gdiplus.dll is missing, please download gdiplus.dll here, and put gdiplus.dll in the same directory where Preview Extractor is, or in C:\Windows\system32

I do have a different shutter counter as well but can't find it on the net, but both show a count on my computer of 12872 shutter actuations.

If selling a camera this might be worth adding to the sales info.

Moonie, would guess around 50k expected life but of course you can have a good one or a bad one. Professional cameras will have several times this life as they use better materials. Anyway, no need to worry you'll be a new camera owner in a few weeks!

Anyway, just a note that this software from Bazza is primarily designed for Nikon camera image files. Seems to work on some Canons and Moonie can let us know if it works on er...Olympus (who are they?)

Opanda is a potential alternative to achieve the same.

Re: shutter clicks (actuations) finding of

Nothing wrong with Olympus !!!! If the range was bigger, and I had more choice I'd be tempted to stay with them I shall always love my Oly

I have tried to find out before, there is a code you can press into the menus for some Oly models, but it didn't work when I did it.

Just curious how many I have taken in about 7 months, I know it will be a lot
