Portrait orientation - take 3

Been waiting for good daylight to take Axel out to my local field. As no one uses it and it's pretty much enclosed, I took his muzzle of to see what could be done without. I hope you like my attempts

Re: Portrait orientation - take 3

No doubt you have come across a common problem, that is the dog wants to come up and sniff the lens when all you really want is a little distance between you. I got a lot of my shots at Afghan Hound Race meetings (purely for fun no money involved). Not only Afghans run but even my late Dobermann enjoyed the exercise. Its a really good way of getting photos and I have ofen been approached by the owners for prints. These race meetings can be found across the country. This is one of the places I did a lot of shoots from but this is NOT one of my videos

As you can see I took my photos on the bend and the great advantage is you can get really close to the action. Further information can be got via google "Afghan hound race meetings"

Unknown till I looked there is a short clip of Sage our late Dobermann racing

Re: Portrait orientation - take 3

I think they are very good .

I find the best photos I take of Theo are the ones when he is just mooching around and I am snapping away..........
