Your Basic $500,000 House In Oregon

While driving around the neighborhoods yesterday my friend spotted a house for sale and told me the price. They were asking $500,000.00 for this house. LOL I don't think sooooooooo !!!!

Re: Your Basic $500,000 House In Oregon

Many of us would expect to pay that (or likely more) for it compared to Uk prices! I guess ours are made of brick but a detached house standing on it's own that size would easily be 250k pound sterling and double or more in some places!

Re: Your Basic $500,000 House In Oregon

I suspect that's why I rent an apartment. I make good money but to me no house is worth more than $200,000. Guess I'm old fashioned.

But Bob renting goes on forever.

i bought my first house when i was 18 and moved several times got married and had LUKE and we only have 3 years to go and the house will be paid for and im only 40.

Do most Americans rent or buy?

Re: Your Basic $500,000 House In Oregon

I love American houses! so much bigger than ours, and you do get a lot more for your money out there.

It's a nice house, look, it has one of those cute fire hydrants outside too.

Bob, you would freak at the prices of houses over here and the price of cars too, you pay a lot less in the US for houses, cars, food, in fact most things I think

Re: Your Basic $500,000 House In Oregon

I have lost two homes in my adult life. One was due to the loss of my job and the other resulted because of a divorce. I poured my heart & soul into both those houses, remodeling the kitchen & bath rooms myself. I will never lose another.

Re: Your Basic $500,000 House In Oregon

Couple of miles (literally 2/3 miles) from me at Sandbanks a plot like that would be running into £2,000,000.

Mind you even some of the super rich are beginning to feel the pinch. There is one property at Sandbanks up for repossession. Don't think I'll be putting a bid in though.
