While I agree with JR, in that you should always always try to take the picture you had in mind (as that's the best way of getting what you want) sometimes a littler edit/crop can help get you closer to what you wanted. Here's how I'd crop that one:

Zounds, I take it you have already cropped to Suzi's suggestion and I think if you used the burn tool to dull down the truck windows and perhaps a bit more contrast so the blacks are really black you may be happier with it.

It does look an interesting place to take a shot from and think perhaps to revisit when the truck has gone would be worth the trip.

Missed Moonies crop and it does improve the shot now loose the truck windows a bit more and I am sure you will have exposed the shots full potential.

No I don't mind at all - and that's my favourite of the lot! Thanks to everyone who had a shot at it - but Jackie's is what I really wanted to do - I'm just a bit rubbish with Photoshop, or anything computery!

Easy Pesy Laura, I removed the tractor with the clone tool picking up close to the tractor and moving the background across to cover the tractor. Increased the contrast a fair bit and then added a magenta filter, that was all and it took only 2 minutes.

Oh! and tilted it 1% to the left

Thanks Jackie! I find the clone tool a bit of a git to use I always end up with noticable blotches!

Use a small soft brush, pick up close to the item you want to cover, don't use it like a brush use it like a stamp and most important re-sample frequently.

On your shot I did a little on the each side of the tractor till it was covered, if you do a stamp that looks wrong undo it and re-sample somewhere else and see if it works better.

Think you have just advised yourself, it does not take that long and if it does then cloning is not a suitable and you then need to cut an past a large area and use the clone tool to blend.

The truck is what made the shot so different for me - hence my edit drew attention to it
