Baby Lily - Tiny fingers and toes

I have my first newborn baby shoot in the next month I took Jols advice and spoke to the midwife, she asked around, and I had a phone call today from an expectant mother, due in the next couple of weeks. We are hoping to take them when the baby is about two weeks,I already had ordered some very soft tiny white feather angel wings and a posing bean bag type thing, that the baby lies on supported, but you cover in your backdrop.

So I have been practicing today with Baby Lily, and will keep trying different things with her (Shh she is made out of plastic but she looks scarily real)

Re: Baby Lily - Tiny fingers and toes

Moonie can I offer some constructive feedback?

The foot and hand photos just dont do it for me. Personally, I'd bring them right into the frame; they look so odd just sat there on the edge of a picture with way too much black space around them.

On the feet picture, I'd bring at least one whole foot into the frame - as it is there is no indication of scale - which I assume is something you are trying to convey with a baby.

What B&W settings are you using? they also seem very dark - overly so, IMO.

Great idea to practice on a doll tho - good luck with your shoot.

Re: Baby Lily - Tiny fingers and toes

I have three daughters Jols

But emotions aside, I was commenting on the composition of the photos opposed to the gush factor.

Re: Baby Lily - Tiny fingers and toes

I would hope so. I know she is open to constructive comments. I certainly would hope my comments/observations/opinion doesn't offend.

Re: Baby Lily - Tiny fingers and toes

I am offended

Nope I am not. I agree about the feet, but I love the hand pic They are a bit dark too, but that is because, Lily glows in black and white and looks more plasticso made it fairly dark on purpose.
Having said that, I was going for the little fragile thing comes out of the dark

All comments are helpful, so don't worry about offending me, as it takes a lot to offend me, and if you ever did , believe me I would let you know xxxxxx
