Re: Abercorn

NICE.

Is that the same graveyard you went to in the rain?

Re: Abercorn

That's actually the museum of Viking Artefacts from the church's history.

Church itself is much bigger but I liked the light on the wee building onthe way out and found a tree to shelter under.

Re: Abercorn

I really like that. Great little image. I like the tones and the overall feel. Sort of feels like one of a set. Colours look a bit artificial, but fits in with the architectural theme. I'm not sure Ilike that competing for height and interest pillar to the left. Think I would be tempted to dull that down so it isn't so noticeable. Other than that, nice.

Re: Abercorn

Thanks Stu!

I know what you mean about the pillar but I feel if it has been there since the 12th century I should respect it's right to be it in the picture.

Does open an interesting discussion about History versus Aesthetics for me.

Re: Abercorn

Well done.

A shot like that would be hard for me to take.
(only because i'm scared of grave yards.)

I am sure you would have taken some great shots Hannah.

It wasn't at all scary, just really peaceful and very interesting because you don't often get to wander around places with so much history .

I have trouble getting my head around 12th century.. and I am quite old!

Get your dad to take you and you will be amazed at how fascinating ( and non scary) graveyards can be.

Re: Abercorn

There was another thread saying how peaceful and tranquil graveyards can be. Nothing to be scared of.

Incidentally, the Ixus 80 is an excellent little compact. Very nice natural colours and good lens. On a little tripod, with a little care and thought you could take a very similar image to this shot.
