Intens cover shoot!

Here's a shot from the cover shoot I had with Intens the other day. Pretty stoked on this one. Something I don't get to shoot to often. Been a lot of snowboarding lately, but I'm really stoked on shooting more like this in the future!

Will post the cover shot as soon as the EP is done.

Would be stoked on some feedback from someone who do this kind of photography a lot. Bands and such.

Nikon D700 with Sigma 24-70 f/2.8. (want the Nikon 24-7o instead! Lots of lens flare with the Sigma)

Elinchrom Ranger upper left and the sun for rim to the right.

Re: Intens cover shoot!

It's a good shot Tommy, but it seems like his neck is at an awkward angle? Might just be me!

Also I'm thinking perhaps there needs to be a little more contrast between him and the background (that's what PPs for ).

Re: Intens cover shoot!

It's a great shot Tommy, he looks great and I am sure this is what he wants.

But, .....you are going to hate me, for me it doesn't scream Rap Artist The gig photography you showed of him on stage was awesome, and would of for me IMO been a much better style for the cover. Like I said, this is just my opinion, and it is the artists choice, and this is still a fantastic portrait

Hope I haven't offended you? xxx

Re: Intens cover shoot!

Thanks guys

To Azz: I don't think I can see the awkwardness in his neck that you're talking about. And the reason there's not more "contrast between the subject and background" is because I didn't want there to be But thanks for your opinion!

To Moonstone: First, not offended at all! This is exactly the reason I upload photos here for. Constructive critique. There's way to much "nice shot..." comments on this site for my liking. When that is said, the reason for this location is to show the city in the background. The city is called Arendal, therefor the title "A-Zoo". So that was very important for the cover. And I do think you can see pretty quick that he's in to hiphop. My opinion

And as I wrote in the picture description, this is not the cover. Just one of the shots he we had to chose from. I will upload the cover as soon as the EP is out!
