Re: Portencross (the old pier) long exposure

Love the dream like quality and rich blue tones.
Would love to have go at something similar. I'm off to the seaside camping in a couple of weeks so that might be the perfect opportunity.

Hi BC. After searching through lots of tripod reviews (Manfrotto only) I think I will get the 055XPROB PRO tripod. Most reviewers say it's rock solid but a little heavy.

The way I see it is, if you have to carry extra weight to stabalise your cf tripod (as the manufacturers include a hook to do so) then that kind of deafeats the purpose of having a light weight tripod So, I think this tripod will suit me and I won't mind the extra weight. I think it's the tallest tripod of the Manfrotto range as well, and certainly cheaper than the cf equivalent.

More brilliant images! Love the colours and the atmosphere. (I tried something similar - or so I thought - myself this evening, with completely dismal results. It's a real art form, DJ and you're a master!)

055XPROB PRO - an absolutely great choice. I have one and TBH don't find it too heavy to lug about - but it IS a very steady tripod.

Great images
