Night shots

Went another run uip to Glasgow last night for some night shooting as the weather was much better, although still a bit windy.

1) 514 second exposure (8 minutes) f18, IS0 200

2) 338 second exposure (5 mins) f18, ISO 200
Unfortunatley this shorter exposure got caught out by the wind even though I had my backpack on tripod weighing it down etc.

3) 15 second exposure, f18, ISO 200

4)20 second, f16, ISO 200

Canon 5D MKII
Canon 400mm f5.6 L

Re: Night shots

Super Silky this time Grant - superb.

Love the composition in the 2nd - with the arch coming right toward us.

I think i prefer the last one in this set to the panoramic one you posted earlier in the week - having the whole of the bridge reflection gives it that bit extra.

Re: Night shots

I prefer the angle to number 2 as well.
It just feels a little more interesting and draws me in rather than blocking me like the more straight on angles.

Sigma 30mm 1.4
on loan: Tamron 90mm

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Not sure I get what you are saying little one as the only way to get a (nearly) "straight on angle" is to shoot from the middle of the river Clyde, but another way is to shoot from the Bells bridge further up like this shot I took in 2009
