Yellow flower

Not sure about this, took in a shady part of the garden so the brightness of the flower never really came out

Re: Yellow flower

Oops didn't realise this was a C&C request...

Hmmm - I think it may be a bit too 'busy' ? Also, there seems to be a fair bit of noise?
Other than that it's a nice capture of an unusual flower

Re: Yellow flower

I find yellow flowers and shade rarely mix because you end up with yukky colour , sunny yellows are often better

Re: Yellow flower

Technically I think you have done a pretty good job, by focusing on the flower centres furthest from the camera you have given the shot depth. However it is not pleasing to my eye but that does not make it a bad piece of work it is just not something I would hang on my wall. Interesting flower, what is it, do you know?

Re: Yellow flower

You are all so polite

I have no idea what it is, popped up by itself, same as the spikey plant, I get a lot of birds in the garden, so I think it is a present that they have given me

Lesson learned, shade and yellow are not a good comboit is noisy too, will try again,it has come out sludgey, see using techie terms like "sludgy".

Iseem to be going through a bad spell with my pics at the moment

Don't think that is true at all, whether one likes an image or not is a problem for the viewer and if you liked it that would be fine, but I get the feeling you don't. So did you like what you saw but not what you took? If that is the case then it may just be colour and that is easy to sort in the future, but it is important for you to find out for yourself what it is you liked about the scene you saw but not the photo you took, then you will correct it in the future.

Edit to say, think it also depends on if you are taking a photo as a memory of what you have seen or are attempting a piece of artistic work. Sometimes it is difficult to know in your own mind what you are doing, then you are not shooting to please yourself but with the idea in your mind of, will others like it. Think IMO it is always best to shot for yourself, if others like it that is pleasing, if they don't but you do, then you have achieved what you set out to do, so shot to please yourself.

Re: Yellow flower

No, I don't like it It just didn't turn out the way I saw it

Will try again though, as it is a nice plant Maybe take some of the flowers and put them in a brighter part of the garden , and try that
