upgrade advice fo canon user.

I'm currently researching camera upgrade options. I'm currently using a slightly dated Canon 350D at the moment and I can't help feel I've outgrown this camera.

what would be an ideal upgrade for myself?

regards.

Re: upgrade advice fo canon user.

5D MKII then
Or if you fancy Nikon, the D700.

If you don't want to spend so much, The Canon 50D or the Nikon D300.

OR if you want lots of bang for your buck, check out the Sony models.

Personally I think you are ready for full frame

How did that myspace profile pic at £10 a shot idea go after?

Re: upgrade advice fo canon user.

If you're wanting a Canon then the 40D or 50D are the obvious choices.

The 40D is a fantastic robust camera with 6.5fps which took over from the nikon D200 but when the Nikon D300 came out the Canon 50D was so obviously released to tempt the 'mega pixel mugs' away from buying the Nikon D300 instead.

If you are hell bent on a Canon, I'd choose the 50D over the 40D but £ for £ I'd certainly stick with the 40D. If it's a clean slate I'd go for a Nikon D300 but that's about to be replaced so on it goes.....

Unless you're prepared to consider other brands you may as well flip a coin as Canon and Nikon will leapfrog each other again and again.

If naughty people like Azz tempt you to spend a fortune on full frame then its a different box of frogs although you'll have the same headache.

Re: upgrade advice fo canon user.

hehe, I know there is so much to read up on. Its the same with anything, there is lots of bells and whistles etc. Does the 50D have full frame?

Azz, I haven't had time due to crazy uni deadlines, lots of decisions to make etc. I'm currently in my second year at uni but possibly moving uni to do a photography BAH so I have potentially two more years. having a part-time job means I can spend my good 'ol student loan on gear yeah!!

No it doesn't. If you are wanting to go FF then you will need to save for the 5D Mark II, or you could try and pick up a used 5d online.

Re: upgrade advice fo canon user.

It seems the 50D would be a viable upgrade, the 5D Mark II seems unattainable for me at this time as lenses would need to be replaced also.

thankyou.
