Re: Street togging

You try to tell a story.

You observe and record ..socially you provide a record of life as it is in the here and now, the joy and sadness.. poverty and discrimination...etc.

It is not a discipline.

but you know that.

Re: Street togging

..can I add that telling 'funny stories' on a forum of people whose lives you have dipped into and recorded seems at very least unkind and unethical.

No offence jols.

Re: Street togging

Agree with Daisy.

Try and look for a story, but try to show a story that the viewer can try to work out.

Comment about the subject in any derogatory way should be avoided. The viewer should make up their own mind.

Re: Street togging

Dave is so much better than me on this subject and has a keen eye for a people shot but the point is not to create anything that isn't there and to treat the ( often unknowing subject ) with respect.

I reckon anyways.

Re: Street togging

Agreed

Sometimes you see a shot and sometimes you try to shoot a panda with roller skates

I did not mean about the particular people in a set photo just an off the wall funny story.

GEEZ lighten up.

Re: Street togging

Oh, there are always funny stories.

Sometimes you "connect" with the subject and sometimes you don't. And if you don't, don't hang around, walk away.
