The flood gates of information have opened for the D7000. I can see why my D90 is now obsolete. Got a list of goodies to the equipment lady right now getting an estimate. More info on the D7000..... http://www.dpreview.com/previews/nikond7000/page4.asp

Re: Nikon D7000 and other Nikon goodies..

Looks good.

I can see the AF on the D7000 being a big advantage over the D90. Closer to the AF on the D300s.

Not sure how the D7000 and D300s compare price wise but for somebody wanting the lighter body - looks like a good option.

Re: Nikon D7000 and other Nikon goodies..

The D7000 looks like a D90 on steroids. Better focusing, bigger sensor, better movie mode with focusing, dual memory cards and many added goodies in the menus, all selling for $1200 (body).

Poor choice of words Phil, more megapixels. I'm surprized the price for just the body is so low. I could just keep my lenses and sell my D90 camera body for, say, $500-700 and then upgrade.

Re: Nikon D7000 and other Nikon goodies..

Moonie - I got my D300 for £949 - Currys had an offer on at £1049, and a £100 off if you spend over a grand. Actually I think it may even have been £999 as I'm sure I had to buy some batteries to get it over a grand on top of that I used quidco lol. So when I sold it I didn't lose much at all.

I really want full frame tho - but don't want to spend over a grand! LOL!

Bob - go for it!

Have you banged your head? but you moan when you have a big camera, that you don't like lugging the weight around and you don't like going outside in the cold in Winter, so you need a cheap, light full frame camera, with all the latest specs for under a grand.

I definitely paid more than a grand for my D300,can't remember exactly , I tried to erase the price from my memory and credit card.

I kill iPhones I also smashed the screen on Lee's iTouch, by knocking it off a counter, onto a tiled floor I'm a klutz They are lovely though, and I love pics taken with them, I know I have mentioned him once already in this thread but check out Chase Jarvis's book, The best camera is the one you have with you, it's images he has taken with only an iPhone.

When you find a FF for under a grand, please let me know
