A Mountain & a Country Store

I was determined to get a few shots off with the new 70-300mm Signa. I tooka 185 mile ride to Mt Hood to find this shot. This store was just so picturesque with the mountain in the back yard I had to stop. With the tripod it takes me 10 minutes to unpack it all and set it up. It's worth it for the right shot. The sign actualy appears oversharpened but isn't. The lettering on the sign is surrounded by a white border causing that effect. So, I am pleased with thte new lens and tripod. This was a 70mm attempt.

Re: A Mountain & a Country Store

Very nice Bob.

Have you done something to it PP ? The mountain looks strange.

PS

Can you ride up to Timberline Lodge - I'd love to go there but never will so some shots would be great.

I added contrast to the mountain, maybe a tad too much. I passed right by the turnoff for Timberline lodge. I've been there so many times I chose to skip it this trip. It is indeed one of many national treasures.

Re: A Mountain & a Country Store

Really nice image Bob.

The tree just right of centre gives away your editing, but apart from that, really nice composition.

I love it.

Here in Scotland, we think we have mountains...but we don't have anything half as big as some of the whoppers you guys have over there.

I really do enjoy seeing your landscape images Bob.

Keep 'em coming!

Re: A Mountain & a Country Store

Thank you. I've lived all over the United States and this is the most photographic area, The Pacific Northwest, that I've ever seen. That's why I've decided to retire here shortly.
