Hot Air Balloons

Now that was a fun festival. It was the annual Tigard Hot Air Balloon Festival that has been around for 20 years. The day was beautiful for balloons with a clear blue sky and no wind. There were hundreds in attendance including many dozens of photographers with their tripods. Since these events always begin at sunup tripods were initially necessary. My friend, Warren, went his own way with his gear choosing his own compositions. I actually called him on his cell phone to pick a meeting spot. There were so many people in that field that it was easy to get separated. We both had a great. Of the 90 shots I took only 5 made it to my hard drive and online storage site. All the rest were deleted. I'm pretty picky these days. Why save a so-so photo? I hope you enjoy the ones I've posted.

Re: Hot Air Balloons

Nice light and colours Bob, did you get any shots of them in the air, those colours against the sky would be stunning.

You can tell by the shadows that I took the shot right at sunrise. The golden flavor of the light is unique.
