My Christmas Present To Me
I've been thinking of buying a Smartie for some time now. I sat in one at a Mercedes showroom in West Vancouver, BC two years ago. What stopped me until now was the high added cost of converting the European car to meet U.S. standards. A Smart car needing the upgrades forced the price over $20,000. Recently the cars are being built in France to immediately meet U.S. pollution standards, thus dropping the cost to $13,500. That's all I needed to hear as there's a new dealership in town that only sells Smart cars. I bought the Smart Pure ForTwo version with power doors & windows, air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, rear window wiper & defroster and stereo speakers already in the doors. I've added an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo, a Garmin Nuvi 1490T GPS & my Apple Ipod Nano to the car. I'm set!
Since a search of Google images didn't yield a decent photograph of a Smart car I decided I could do better. I've named my car "Herbie".

Awww so diddy and cute!!!
We are about to buy a new vehicle right at the opposite end of the spectrum - a huge 8 seater thats more like a minibus than car.
My beloved 7 seater has just died.
