Re: Good Deal?

I thought there was now a law where they have to put the price per kilo

Re: Good Deal?

in fact it is on the beans above ,we have found with some dog food that it works out cheaper to buy smaller tins rather than one big one which always seems weird

Yes but if you start looking for these, you'll realise they put the dearest (i.e. "offer“) price per kilo, more often than not, so you still don't pay more than the advertised ppk.

Re: Good Deal?

They can also price things like apples by the kilo or per apple or by the bag. You have absolutely no way of comparing prices between them.

What they also do is price one pack of say pork chops at £/kg but the next pack is priced pence/100g. Doesn't take brain of Britain to work it out but some people struggle.

Yes, thats a bug bear of mine, the per unit v's per weight. My local supermarket also has no scales until you get to cash desk. So you can't work it out that way either.

Also for people like me who have trouble with numbers, etc it just gives them another opportunity to take advantage. I went on courses and that got my confidence up, but some ppl wouldn't question them, only themselves....

Re: Good Deal?

Yeah...noticed Morrison's quoting a cheese bargain in price per kilo today.

I have never bought a kilo of cheese so it could have been a bargain or a total hornswaggle.

Wish I had paid attention at school.
