Thanks evreyone for your input as it gave me some stuff to look at and i have decided to go for Gimp so now starts the learning curve to get my head round all this technology.
The last time i did any sort of editing was in a dark room back in the 80's, early 80's. Now i'm feeling old because in 2-3 years that will be 30 years OUCH
