Re: Studio Lighting - is this kit any good?

You can get Daylight Energy saving bulbs for things like SAD.
They have a lot whiter light so you dont get the tungsten yellow light problem.
I have one and its a nice white light ideal for indoor photography

http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/pro...-saver-20w-bc/

I didnt get mine from the above but they seem to be the same thing
Hope that helps

Re: Studio Lighting - is this kit any good?

(Ah found it Azz!)

Ok i have a set similar, they are okish. The thing with them is you cant adjust the light output, and if you havnt got the space to move them back, the light is very harsh. They look as though they are strobes (like mine) so not continuous lighting.

Being honest you are better off buying a stand and brolly to use your SBs with. This is what im doing and i will be buying another SB soon. You will find ALOT of pros choose this option (called strobists) as the lighting is quick to set up and maneuver.

Azz take a look at this site, it will tell you all about lighting set ups with flashes.

http://strobist.blogspot.com/

check out their Flickr group too. Each member posts up there lighting set up and info.

Re: Studio Lighting - is this kit any good?

Thanks for the info KK

The lights were in the Continuous Lighting category so I'm guessing they are CLs
