Re: What made you pick up a camera?

I was really interested in it in my teens and wanted to take it further back then, but my step dad wouldn't let me do art GCSE and i did History and Geography instead i went to uni and did Geology and it was whilst i was out there taking pictures of Teide and al the other mountains and volcanoes i visited in the 3 years at Uni, i thought i really wanted to get back into photography and my art became the best part of my geology work LOL!!

We then got Lupo and James didn't want me regretting that i didn't have any really nice shots of him that he bought me a 400D and i haven't looked back since

Re: What made you pick up a camera?

I cant draw, even though I tried for years, and I have an eye for what makes a lovely image, I just cant draw it, so I use a camera to capture it for me.

Re: What made you pick up a camera?

i have to thank my old teacher for the inspiration
and my boyfriend for the camera

we went on a school trip one time and he lend me his SLR and i was clicking away even me and my mates had a go in the darkroom and saw how my pics was slowly developing in front of my eyes and thought "how cool was that !!" lol

he said i got the "eye" and that word always sticks in my head so my mum bought me a couple of P&S cameras through the years but found it wasnt the same as the SLR but my mum couldnt afford Slr which i can understand and give up till i meet my boyfriend three years ago, told him (drunk) what i always wanted to do but felt a bit too shy to try lol

so.... guess what my first pressie off my boyfriend was ........oh i was over the moon and got the "eye" back and now im bloody obsessed !!! lol

Re: What made you pick up a camera?

My dad was a keen photographer, and always tried to inspire me into loving photography. He bought me my first camera when I was 6, a little red camera I remember it well. I went on a school trip to Slimbridge when I was about 7, and took the camera along - and got some amazing swan pics, and everyone raved about how good they were so I fell in love with photography and have been doing it since. Mostly little point and shoot cameras etc, and up until a few eyars ago always film, including the film SLRs I had at my disposal. Problem was, despite enjoying taking the pics, I never learned much about it all, so a lot of my photos taken with the SLRs are not great.

I did art for GCSE and A-Level and photography was part of both courses for me, and also I studied some of the politics and philosophy of photography for part of my degree

Now want to try my hand at digital SLR photography, but I expect it'll be a few years before I can afford a dslr There's no way I can see us affording one in the near future at all - even the cheapest are *well* out of our price range :/

Think that's it!

Re: What made you pick up a camera?

I have always had a camera ..starting with a little kodak that I bought myself when I was 15 .. then asked hubby to buy me a new camera when he went to the USA with work ..he bought me back a digital

When we got Delta, I asked a pal to come around and take some pics of her for me ..when I saw the resulting shots I asked what sort of camera she was using ...she had a DSLR ..and that was it ..it was on my wish list for a while but eventually got Canon 350d to share with hubby ...I don;t like sharing so we eventually ended up with Canon 400d's each ..and now Canon 5d's .....when I win the lottery the 1d will be calling.... Re: What made you pick up a camera?

Hi I started off with small kodak instamatic when I was 15, and I thiught I was the bees knees I would go around taking photos of anything and everything, I met this guy who had a SLR and when I saw the quality of photos I asked santa for a SLR it was an practika, cant remember the model number but that when my interest in photography really took off, and now I upgrade my cameras whenever I can afford to. Now I'm vice president of Carnoustie Club and I'm being asked to do weddings
