As you mentioned in the car crash thread, I am getting a better understanding of why you are wanting to buy the neighbors out...increased shop size as well as increase studio size.

As I live in the US some of the terminology is very new to me. Not sure what the meter box is. Guess it shows how much electric has been used...same as the states only ours is located outdoors. Also, not sure what a crb check is? Not only am I gaining knowledge in photography but living in the UK as well

Congratulations again Kanikula you should be very proud, can't wait to see more of your work from the new studio.
Thanks BP

Thats eaxctly it! We would knock through the flat to their upstiars and convert the loft. Downstairs would be my studio and parking round the back for our shop They just refuse to sell it

The room is about 12/13ft so yeah not much room! LOL but i can work with it - just

ps - yes you are right about the meter
a CRB chesck is a check for criminal records. Its done if you work soley with children under 18yrs, vunerable adults and accounts

Re: Finished My studio!!!

Ah-I see. Thank you for the explanation. Things are certainly done a little differently here in the US. No checks needed. Maybe this is why our prison system is over populated.

Kanikula, can you report your neighbors for not upkeeping the property? Then move in for the kill Again not sure how things are done there. Here in the states in certain subdivisions the home owner must upkeep the property, if not there is a lein put against it.

None the less you should still be proud of your efforts. Congrats again and good luck.

Dont think you can actually do that over here!?? Would be cool if you could! Any guesses welcome! LOL

The US prisions are full as you guys do actually put the nasty people away rather then give them a pat on the back and an ASBO!

Re: Finished My studio!!!

If the property is posing a 'danger' to the public in some way, the council can force them to act/rectify the situation. Which costs them money. So that might make them sell

Also, they still have to pay rates, even if the property is not being used... maybe ask the council if they actually are, and if not why not.

Although, it's not a good idea making enemies with someone you want to buy a property from! It may make them dig their heals in!

Best way is usually offer them more money

We will have to see what happens with their roof then Azz They do actually live in the property, just the back half of it.

TBH as the house stands, its not worth much as its in a mess. Only people who would be interested in it is developers. Thats why they wont sell
