Re: Nikon D7000 and other Nikon goodies..

Additional review info

As said above, I expect that the Nikon D7000 is superior to both the D90 and D300s, making the D7000 the new top amateur camera, right below the D700.

The D7000 should outperform every other DX camera on Earth, and doesn't weigh much more than the D90. Yay!

I wouldn't order the kit with the 18-105mm lens, which is a boring lens for $300. I'd order the body-only, and get either the 18-200mm VR, or the excelent and inexpensive 18-55mm VR, or the 35mm f/1.8, or a combo of the 10-24mm and 55-200mm VR lenses. Re: Nikon D7000 and other Nikon goodies..

Like any new release - proof will be in the eating I guess Bob. I think it will be a case of waiting for a while to see what people's views are. And of course the price to drop !

If I was pushed into it right now though I'd probably wait and see what happens to the D300s

I'm in the process of selling my 35mm f/1.8 & my 60mm f/2.8 micro to aid in the purchase of the D7000. I'm hanging on to my D90 & 18-200mm VRII zoom. I will also have the original kit 18-55mm non-VR zoom to slap on my second body. My wireless remote & wired remote triggers will work with the D7000.
