Pied Kingfisher

This lady (the gentleman has a second - unbroken - collar just under the single collar that the female has) was perched over the river and very patiently allowed me to a few angles of her.

Re: Pied Kingfisher

I am *so* jealous! Pied Kingfishers are something I'd love to see - so beautiful! Like monochrome 30's/40's gangsta versions of our Kingfishers!

Gorgeous shots!

Re: Pied Kingfisher

First class set Samwise. I like all of them, but if I had to pick one, it would be No.2.

Re: Pied Kingfisher

Very nice exposures here. They're crystal sharp yet you managed to control the depth of field nicely. I too love #2 for that reason. The brown/green background is a nice compliment to the stark contrast of the bird.
