Prinia, Shrike and Hornbill

Got some shots of these guys recently.....

Tawny-flanked Prinia.
Fairly dull little guy and very common, but I have always found it very difficult to get a clear shot of one, they are always all over the place. Finally got this guy feeding on aphids from an aloe.

Red-billed Hornbill
Another very common species. I only saw afterwards that this guy has a tick on his eyelid- ouch!

Crimson-breasted Shrike
These guys are ferocious little predators well know for their habit of spearing live prey (grasshoppers, young frogs etc) onto Acacia thorns, building up a larder over time.

All absolutely fab images - Well done on the first especially. The last is my favourite, but this is because of the bird - which is wonderful looking!

Re: Prinia, Shrike and Hornbill

I wish I saw these birds when I look through my camera! Instead of pesky seagulls and the usual British variety. Very nice by the way.
