Geisha

Another shot from our recent trip. Its a bit hard to tell the real thing from the tourists that have paid to be dressed up, but I am pretty sure these two were 'Maiko' or apprentice Geisha.

EFS 55-250 IS II
EF 50mm 1.8

Re: Geisha

Like the subject and composition. This is just a personal but I'm not sure I like the PP work. I would love to see the original with the colours in.

Re: Geisha

Love the shot Gav, - i think the background is a bit distracting, maybe crop for just the two figures (getting rid of the woman gazing at you, top left).
It is a strong image and would be better without the Visa signs - unless that was your intention? Old and New?

Re: Geisha

@ all
the background is a bother in this image and I tried to reduce it by going with the selective mono translation. Unfortunately in such a street photography shot you have to work with what you've got.

I will try a heavier crop and see what it looks like.

Re: Geisha

A very nice shot Gav, I think your crop works better and I also like the selective mono as I think it puts more emphasis on the Geishas kimonos.

Regards
Mark
