Your thoughts on this please

I have finally put a gallery together of the Silverstone GT series race I went to. It's the first time I've used Lightroom 3 to make a gallery. Anyway I would like your feed back, good or bad on any aspects of the gallery.

So have a look: HERE and let me have it, good or bad

Re: Your thoughts on this please

Ok, my initial thoughts are... less is more. I think, unless you need to show every car for a particular reason, there are too many very similar. many images have the same car or a different car but same part of the track. I'd reduce it down and mix them up. I'd also start adding more varied pics like the pits, the marshalls, the girls etc. to balance it all out. Great shots btw, but just too many similar.

Re: Your thoughts on this please

I can't make any real comment on the photography involved because I wouldn't know a really good car shot (other than sharpness and such) if it jumped up and bit me. The gallery is very nice though, suits the subject matter very well, and is clean and simple and uncluttered. Excellent I think

xx

ETA - just read Stu's post, and that's a very good point. I was merely commenting on the look of the gallery, and should have commented onthe amount and type of photos too

Thanks BC and Zoundz, I must admit that I did wonder if there were still to many shots of similar cars/track positions. This is just the sort of feed back I want thanks for taking the time to look throughout it all and comment guys

Re: Your thoughts on this please

Ken. I'm a big fan of your work. Always razor sharp and well composed. On this occasion I agree with Stu. Individually they are good car shots. Collectively, they are good car shots, but unless you really know racing cars, and I don't, maybe the danger is you could lose interest. I'd love to see the drama, the pits, the spills, the offs. In short, show the people who don't go to race days the reason why you love it, and you obviously do. Does that make any sense?

Re: Your thoughts on this please

Looks good Ken. Might be worth doing a few versions - perhaps try one with only one photo per car. And another where you only add you 15 most favourite

Re: Your thoughts on this please

Can't really add anything to what others have pointed out, you do have a good eye for motorsports though
