Re: Should I buy Canon Rebel Xsi?

Favian, some of us are not that young, well just me I think but I can't always understand what you are in fact asking.

lol.d70s came out like, '05 and xsi came out last year, correct?

Think you mean that as the d70s was released in 2005 and the xsi in 2008 the latter must be better? If that is what you meant then my advice is that is not a good reason for changing a camera.

Would also advice against changing brands without some good reason, learn to use the one you have to it's full advantage and when and if the manufacture brings out a camera on which you can take better shots then buy it.

Don't let your decisions to purchase anything be led by the fact that the store owner thinks you should and lets you buy something at a supposed reduced price. Let the need be decided by a reasoned argument and then you look for a good deal not the other way round - see the deal and then try to find a reason for buying.

Ok, next time I'll ask a more detailed question. Should I buy D5000 Body then? That way'll fit my current lenses I have. If I'm going to get d5000, and if i like it, do you think I should sell the old one?

Thanks for the advices.

@ Blackcloud, what do you mean "Withdrawn"?

Re: Should I buy Canon Rebel Xsi?

Still not at all clear what you are asking, why do you want a new camera/body? If it is just that you want to spend some money then anything will do but if it is for some reason then in order to answer we need to know why and what your requirements are.

Re: Should I buy Canon Rebel Xsi?

Because I want to upgrade, dude. Lol. Or should I get D90? Hmmm.

If look at this, the camera I have right now is crap.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/comp...d5000&show=all (There are supposed to be 3 tables, does it show?)

Edit: I think I've decided, I'm going to get D90 Body. Looks like Rebel Xsi is crap. Thanks all for the help.

Re: Should I buy Canon Rebel Xsi?

Well glad you have come to a decision, what is wrong with the D70 I have seen some really good work from that camera, don't know anything about the RebelXsi, TBH I have never heard of it. Will now go and goggle it.

OK I see it is an entry level Canon, can't imagine why you should dismiss it in such terms, have you tried it?

Yep, people were impressed with my photos on d70S. No I haven't tried Rebel Xsi, but seeing from comparison chart, D90 beats it. Besides, I have two lenses, right? Soo...yeah sure this deal looks good (xsi body + two lenses, all for 900$) but still. Hopefully I made a wise decision.

Re: Should I buy Canon Rebel Xsi?

The d90 is a higher spec, more expensive camera than your rebel or uk Canon equiv so should 'beat' it really.

Re: Should I buy Canon Rebel Xsi?

Favian, why don't you share some of your work, so we can see it,if you find the D70s is limiting maybe you won't be happy with a D90

What type of work do you do? Portraiture? landscapes, wildlife? Fine Art? It is easier for people to help, when they have an idea what work you do

It might actually be worth your while buying some better lenses, than upgrading your body.

Suzi x
